Yes, in fact, we’ve begun the planning for this. Don’t expect anything before the end of the year, but we are working on it. Thanks for your interest.

I download the app but after I sign in I can't create a new pano. It takes me to the website instead.
I download the app and signed in. When I press the "Create your own free tour" button it takes me to a screen that is like the website instead of creating a pano. Any suggestions?

Hi,
The new shooting app only works with iPhone 4 and 4s, so in case you are using anything other it will take you to the TourWrist website instead.

Switching primary tour scenes
Greetings from Puerto Vallarta. Two questions, if I may...
1. in a given Tour, where you may have several Scenes, is it possible to switch the primary scene (i.e. the one that shows up above, full size, while the others show up only as thumbnails)?
2. One of my tours in particular, http://tools.tourwrist.com/tours/18473 features two scenes. And yet, when I look at the list of all my tours using http://tools.tourwrist.com/groups it shows that I only have one scene. Weird, no?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. In response to your two inquiries:
1. We do not presently have a way to rearrange the order of scenes in a tour (the first scene is the one that gets shown). That said, we do see the value in this and hope to add this functionality in the coming months.
2. We have replicated the issue you’ve described and look to have this addressed within the week.

compass accuracy
I got your app for my ipad. I think it's great, awesome work. I just have one small criticism/thought. I presume you use the accelerometer for the vertical motion and the compass for the horizontal direction and that they really don't effect each other. When I rotate it very VERY slowly in the horizontal direction, it appears to "tick" every one degree. Why do you do that? Can you make it smoother? Does the compass only give you data accurate within one degree? I have to imagine the hardware can do better than that.
Other than that, awesome app and… more

Thank you. If your iPad is the first generation model, then yes, what you’re describing is the result of having no gyroscope. We’re using the magnetometer, and yes, it’s a relatively inaccurate instrument. The ticks you’re seeing are our way of mitigating constant inaccuracies which otherwise make the experience fairly undesirable. On the iPad 2, this is all alleviated thanks to the included gyroscope, so you should see no “ticking.”

Offline saving
I've tried for 3 times to use the app in very special locations where wifi is not available (outdoor areas). With a very low 3G connection, the app failed to upload the image, even after trying for several minutes. So I lost the pictures. I believe this can be solved allowing the pictures to be saved offline within the app to be uploaded when a wifi connection is available. With the first two tries I've lost all the job when trying to connect in the wifi later. Because the app asked to insert the categories and subcategories that I already… more

Hi,
First off, I’m sorry that you had lost your panos, that has happened to me and I know it can be frustrating.
With that being said, we have started working on our next app update which will include the ability to be able to save and edit the pano on your iPhone and upload it at a later date when you are near a WiFi source.
Thanks for your feedback!

Option to disable showing user-uploaded panos
TourWrist was a beautiful software until you allowed to create own panos. Now it is impossible to browse panos as it was before: 8 of 10 panos are now 'My living room', 'My kitchen' etc with wrong categories, bad combined ans so on... I want you to add an option to disable viewing them or maybe add new category 'User uploads' so they not be mixed with other beautiful panoramas that I saw in previous versions of TourWrist. Thank you.

Hi,
First off thanks for your submission. Let me start of with an analogy using YouTube as an example. On YouTube you will find several types of videos, some really great and some not so great. TourWrist with the new shooting app is silmiliar in the case that it’s new and that it’s going to take time for some of these folks to get better at shooting panos. With that said, we are planning on adding some filters so you the viewer can choose what content you want to see and the categories to choose from.
Either way, we really appreciate your feedback and your support of TourWrist!

Thank you for your interest in the app. At this time, CrimeSeen 360 is being used by University of Florida staff in preparation for the spring semester curriculum. Thus, it is not available for general use. We look forward to the opportunity to make it available for you to use as well.

No Immersive Mode
The app is not showing the option to change between immersive and touch screen mode, it is stuck on touch screen.

Not all iOS devices are created equal, and so with our free app, we have endeavored to deliver the best possible experience for each device type. While most other apps have found the inclusion of a gyroscope in the latest generation of devices to be an easy way to achieve “Immersive Mode” effects, we’ve gone the extra mile to create the same effect on older devices that at least have a magnetometer inside. Unfortunately, even the 3rd gen and older iPod Touches lacked both a gyroscope and a magnetometer, thus tying our hands completely. This is why your version of the app lacks the button you seek.

Hi Jane,
Please make sure that your rotation lock is off. For instruction on this please visit: http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/97974 Also, make sure that you hold the iPhone at eye level when you are prompted to rotate it.
If this problem still persists can you send me a screenshot of the problem by clicking the home and power button simultaneously and sending that image to jeffhandley@tourwrist.com.
Thanks!

The capture (or “AmaTour”) API will be released to developers in June 2011. The general public should then begin to see this exciting functionality included in a number of apps and software programs by the end of the summer.

iPad 2 shooting capability
I just found out about this cool app today and would love to use it on my iPad 2, but it doesn't seem to work for it, despite fulfilling the software requirements. Is the Create Pano option not available for the iPad 2?

I noticed that many of the tours have a ground and a top, but when I make one, there is no way to do that!
Why can't we do ground and top like many tours. Only front, back, and sides.
3 votesHi,
In order to capture a full spherical image that shows the ground and top as you have indicated requires a fisheye lens. The camera on your mobile device can not capture the image you desire.
However we are working on a better camera solution that we hope to release very soon that will capture more of the sky and ground in the near future. If you were looking to shoot full spherical panoramas you may want to check out www.panoguide.com for a resource guide on how to do that.
Thanks for contacting us!

Can't pinch to zoom out when using the Tour Wrist App.
You can zoom into a pano, but you can't pinch to zoom out. If you are on the website looking at the same pano you can do both, however.
3 votesHi Jason,
With the release of the new iPad tomorrow, you will be able to pinch and zoom with it as the screen resolution is double the current iPad offerings. Also, if you have an iPhone 4 or 4S you can also pinch and zoom on those devices too.
Thanks for being a TourWrist!
