Thank you for your interest in the app. At this time, CrimeSeen 360 is being used by University of Florida staff in preparation for the spring semester curriculum. Thus, it is not available for general use. We look forward to the opportunity to make it available for you to use as well.

Switching primary tour scenes
Greetings from Puerto Vallarta. Two questions, if I may...
1. in a given Tour, where you may have several Scenes, is it possible to switch the primary scene (i.e. the one that shows up above, full size, while the others show up only as thumbnails)?
2. One of my tours in particular, http://tools.tourwrist.com/tours/18473 features two scenes. And yet, when I look at the list of all my tours using http://tools.tourwrist.com/groups it shows that I only have one scene. Weird, no?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. In response to your two inquiries:
1. We do not presently have a way to rearrange the order of scenes in a tour (the first scene is the one that gets shown). That said, we do see the value in this and hope to add this functionality in the coming months.
2. We have replicated the issue you’ve described and look to have this addressed within the week.

compass accuracy
I got your app for my ipad. I think it's great, awesome work. I just have one small criticism/thought. I presume you use the accelerometer for the vertical motion and the compass for the horizontal direction and that they really don't effect each other. When I rotate it very VERY slowly in the horizontal direction, it appears to "tick" every one degree. Why do you do that? Can you make it smoother? Does the compass only give you data accurate within one degree? I have to imagine the hardware can do better than that.
Other than that, awesome app and… more

Thank you. If your iPad is the first generation model, then yes, what you’re describing is the result of having no gyroscope. We’re using the magnetometer, and yes, it’s a relatively inaccurate instrument. The ticks you’re seeing are our way of mitigating constant inaccuracies which otherwise make the experience fairly undesirable. On the iPad 2, this is all alleviated thanks to the included gyroscope, so you should see no “ticking.”

Immersive Video
I was wondering how far off video will be for this sort of immersive experience. Thanks.

An expansion to include video is planned, but should not be expected until the second half of 2011.

Use HTTPS/SSL so passwords aren't sent in clear text.
My password is sent in clear text in all parts of the site, so TourWrist should use HTTPS to encrypt sensitive user data.
Better yet, use OpenID so users can sign in with their Google, Facebook, or other account. (Ironically, this uservoice service allows this!)3 votesunder review ·

Annotate a tour.
I'd very much like to place textual annotations over the tour. Much in the same way that users can annotate over a video in YouTube. This would allow us to be tour guides for an empty space and show them useful information.

That sounds like a great idea and one we may be able to implement next year. Please stay tuned and thanks for your interest in TourWrist!

Why can't I sign in to my account on the iPhone, but I can sign in on the website? Without signing in I can't upload anything

Load Embedded Scene on Click
Greetings from Puerto Vallarta!
Embedding more than one scene on a single web page can take a bit of time to download, such that it would be nice to have some sort of "click to enjoy" function. If this is not possible but is in the works, consider it a humble suggestion!

Hi Paco,
I agree with you and this is something we have discussed in the past. You could always just use the pop-up method to solve this is a quicker manner, but as soon as we have a fix for this we will let you know.
Thanks!

Given that we’re not charging for 99% of our services, we’ve had to focus on other priorities for the past few months. This remains a high priority for us though, and we look forward to releasing improved reporting tools as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.

The capture (or “AmaTour”) API will be released to developers in June 2011. The general public should then begin to see this exciting functionality included in a number of apps and software programs by the end of the summer.

Updating or deleting tour image
The jpg for one of the scenes I created when I was learning the interface (Los Muertos Pier) did not load in its entirety. As such, it didn't process properly. I would like an option to update the jpg, reload it again, or delete the scene entirely.

We apologize that there was an issue. Presently, if you mark your tour as inactive (from the edit screen), it will disappear from public view. In an upcoming update, you’ll then have the ability to permanently delete it. At any time you can re-post your tour, though we’re also planning to give you the ability to replace an image for just this sort of reason.

Switching scenes from one tour to another
Officially addicted TourWrist user here!
Will it be possible at some point to switch scenes from one tour to another? I'm bound to add up enough that I'd like to diversify them. Rather than re-uploading them on a different tour, I'd like to be able to just switch them...

Yes, this is planned. Until this feature is released however, please email our support team and we’ll be happy to move any scene for you.

Cylindrical panoramas
Are you going to support panoramas that are 360 degrees but not fully? I have a lot of panoramic images that now show black areas on the top and bottom,

(Admin, Tour Wrist) responded
WIth the nature of our platform and more specifically with the TourWrist app capable of displaying a panorama from any angle while using your mobile device, we will never limit that view. With that being said, we do have plans in the works whereby we will be inserting a graphical cap of sorts in those two areas called the zenith and nadir.
Thanks for feedback and your support of TourWrist.

No Immersive Mode
The app is not showing the option to change between immersive and touch screen mode, it is stuck on touch screen.

Not all iOS devices are created equal, and so with our free app, we have endeavored to deliver the best possible experience for each device type. While most other apps have found the inclusion of a gyroscope in the latest generation of devices to be an easy way to achieve “Immersive Mode” effects, we’ve gone the extra mile to create the same effect on older devices that at least have a magnetometer inside. Unfortunately, even the 3rd gen and older iPod Touches lacked both a gyroscope and a magnetometer, thus tying our hands completely. This is why your version of the app lacks the button you seek.

Photo Galleries for Microsites
Hola Charles & team! It occurs to me that something that would make microsites more appealing would be the option to add an image gallery. This would allow people that don't even have their own website (yet) or that would rely primarily on Tour Wrist's microsites to showcase their shop with additional imagery.
In my mind, perhaps you could allow not only the top image of a microsite, but an additional five or six to show up at the bottom, in pop-up windows or something like that.
Food for thought?
Cheers from Puerto Vallarta,
Paco Ojeda

tour tags not updating in IE9
When entering a new tour using IE9, I attempted to add tour tags. I entered one tag and pressed 'ADD' and nothing happened. No tag was entered. I switched to Firefox and it was working just fine. That is how I was able to add tags to the newest tour.
BTW, I like the site!

iPod Touch, which version for Tour Wrist?
Excuse me for the question, but which version of the iPod touch is needed to use Tour Wrist?
The idea is to have a panorama and image portfolio that can be always in your photo bag. The images should be reside locally on the device without the need of an Internet connection or a WiFi connection.1 vote -
More embedding examples, insights.
While I'll be the first to admit I'm not the most competent web guy, a bit of more detailed information on how to embed the tours/scenes would go a long way.
My own personal website, which uses Posterous.com as its engine, turns out to be NOT compatible with javascript. Wordpress.com does not allow javascript, either.
So if I'm going to be using TourWrist with potential clients, it is only fair that I can offer them whatever limitations they might encounter BEFORE I sell the tours to them, no?
In short, I'd appreciate more detailed information in both a) how to… more

Paco, thank you for your feedback. We’ve just discussed internally to identify ways that we can make the instructions clearer. That said, WordPress does accept javascript, so you should be able to integrate with any WordPress site.
